The ThermoWood Feather Edge Board 20x140mm is a thermally modified timber board developed for external applications where stability, durability, and low maintenance are required. Commonly used for feather edge cladding and contemporary fencing, the tapered profile allows boards to overlap, creating a weather-resistant surface suitable for exposed UK conditions.

ThermoWood is produced through a controlled thermal modification process that enhances the timber’s dimensional stability and resistance to moisture uptake. This treatment significantly reduces movement, improves durability, and eliminates the need for chemical preservatives. As a result, ThermoWood feather edge boards are well suited to façades, garden buildings, screening, and boundary structures where consistent long-term performance is important.

This board forms part of our feather edge boards range and is designed for use within ventilated cladding or fencing systems. The 20x140mm section provides a practical overlap once installed, delivering balanced coverage and a clean, uniform appearance. Boards can be installed vertically or horizontally to timber battens using corrosion-resistant fixings, with correct overlap and ventilation essential for durability.

ThermoWood feather edge boards have a warm brown tone when supplied, which will weather naturally to a silver-grey if left untreated. Where colour retention is required, a suitable external coating system can be applied. Correct detailing and installation will ensure a stable, low-maintenance timber finish with predictable long-term behaviour.
