BROfix hidden decking fasteners let you lay a perfectly clean timber deck with no visible screws on the board face. Each clip slots into the groove of your decking board and is fixed to the joist below with a single screw, which is then covered by the next board. The result is a contemporary, unbroken deck surface that looks as good in five years as it does on day one.
Engineered from high-performance PA-6 polyamide, BROfix clips are built for year-round outdoor use in the UK. They have been tested through temperature cycles from -50°C to +80°C at 0–95% relative humidity — well beyond anything the British climate will throw at them.

Face-fixing timber decking is quick, but it leaves screw heads exposed on every board — and over time those fixings rust, stain, and become tripping hazards as board edges lift. BROfix solves all of that. By fixing through the groove, the clip is never visible, the board is held flat along its full length, and the automatic 6 mm gap allows the timber to expand and contract seasonally without cupping or buckling.
BROfix also reduces the total number of screws required by approximately half compared to conventional face-fixing. Fewer fixings means faster installation and a lower cost per square metre overall.
BROfix is designed for use with grooved ThermoWood decking boards. Our ThermoWood Decking 26x117mm is fully compatible and is our recommended board to pair with BROfix clips. ThermoWood is thermally modified pine — dimensionally stable, low maintenance, and naturally resistant to moisture movement, making it an ideal match for a hidden fixing system.

The guide covers subframe preparation, clip spacing, screw specification, butt joint details, and finishing advice for ThermoWood decking.
BROfix clips are used at a rate of 2.2 per linear metre of board. To calculate your requirement: divide your deck area (m²) by your board face width (in metres) to get total linear metres, then multiply by 2.2. Always add a 10% wastage allowance. One pack of 300 clips covers approximately 136 linear metres of board run.

Use stainless steel A2 screws — 4.2 × 42 mm with a Torx 20 head. Avoid zinc-plated or galvanised screws when fixing into ThermoWood decking as they can cause staining on the board surface.
